At Laura Preshong, we want your jewelry to fit perfectly and last a lifetime. Below is everything you need to know about resizing, cleanings, and repairs. Please note we only offer repair and resizing services on pieces purchased at Laura Preshong. 

Complimentary Ring Resizing

  • Every engagement ring or wedding band purchase includes one complimentary resizing within 90 days of email notification that your piece is ready for pickup or delivery.

  • Ready to Propose rings resized before pickup or shipping are not eligible for an additional complimentary resizing.

  • To resize:

    • Boston Clients: Schedule a drop-off appointment at our South End showroom.

    • Shipping: Contact us for a resizing number before mailing your piece - this ensures proper tracking once it arrives. See below for shipping instructions.

Cleaning & Prong Checks (Always Free)

  • Enjoy complimentary ring cleanings and prong checks at our showroom, simply book a drop-off appointment.

  • Our team will professionally clean your piece and carefully inspect every prong to ensure stones are secure.

  • The process usually takes under 10 minutes while you wait, no need to leave it!

Request a Free Ring Sizer

  • Need to confirm your size? Email us your name and shipping address, and we’ll mail you a complimentary ring sizing gauge. (United States only*)

  • Pro Tip: For narrow bands, subtract ¼ size from the gauge measurement for best accuracy.

Repairs & Maintenance

  • From wear-and-tear to accidental damage, we are here to help with repairs, prong checks, or refreshes.

  • Typical turnaround time: 15 business days (approx. 3 weeks) plus shipping.

  • We’ll assess your piece, provide a quote, and notify you when it’s ready.

Shipping Your Ring to Us

  1. Contact us first with details about your repair or resizing. We’ll issue a resizing/repair number.

  2. Package securely:

    • Use a box, not a padded envelope.

    • Include your repair number, full name, return address, email, phone, and requested size/repair details.

    • Do not include diamond certificates or gift boxes.

    • Do not mark packages as jewelry or diamonds.

  3. Ship via FedEx, UPS, or similar carrier with tracking.

    • Client is responsible for inbound shipping.

    • Outbound return shipping is $35 via FedEx 2-Day, signature required.

    • Optional insurance: Add coverage for 1.5% of item value. Check with your insurance provider to confirm coverage during transit.
