We will re-size all of the rings from our collections one time, complimentary, within 90 days from the 1st day your ring is available for pick up or out for delivery. Further resizing's cost will vary. Re-sizing will take up to 15 business days to complete, plus shipping time. You can ship us your ring or schedule a drop-off appointment and deliver your ring in person for the resize. Read details here. 

Each piece of our ethical fine jewelry is handmade especially for you, with love and care. Your beautiful piece of jewelry will be made in 5 weeks plus shipping time. Read more information on Shipping and Returns. Custom, customized and engraved pieces will require additional time. Our Rush Service is temporarily unavailable.

As a small business located in Ma, we are required to charge 6.25% MA State Sales Tax on all orders placed from addresses within Massachusetts at Check Out as well as in our location in Boston. Out-of-state and outside of the country (USA) purchases are governed by the laws of each individual state or country of the order origin; any and all taxes, fees or duties required or owed on purchases from our website or via invoice are the responsibility of the buyer and will not be paid by Laura Preshong. 

Yes, we can engrave most ring bands! Engraving costs $50 for up to 15 characters (common keyboard characters), and $5.00 for each additional character. Engraving can be added to men's bands at checkout through our website. To inquire about engraving other products, Contact us. Engraving adds an additional 7 to 10 days to our standard production time.

Unfortunately, we are unable to sell our ring settings without a center stone purchased through Laura Preshong.

Get a Return Shipping Code: Contact Us for the code, we use it to identify your item if personal details are not in the box. Pack Your Order Securely, Ship in a Box and Insure it. Include in the packing box, the client's name(who placed the order), what you need done to your item, your return address, email address and phone number. Use a reliable shipping company and track your item. Pack your ring in a box, not a padded envelope. Insure your package or check that your jewelry insurance policy covers your ring during shipping to and from the showroom. Do not write jewelry, diamonds or other value related words on the package. - We return ship your item via FedEx 2-Day Express signature required, the cost is $30.00 and does not include personal item insurance. Check with your insurance provider to be sure your ring is insured for loss for incoming and outgoing shipping or contact us to add return shipping insurance to your package.

Yes, most of our designs can be customized to suit your taste and lifestyle, as an example diamonds can be replaced with sapphires, emeralds or rubies, prong styles can be changes from traditional to claw. Simple design changes will add a minimal fee of 100.00, if the ring design changes in a more significant way like two rings put together, larger or smaller stones are required, a design element is added or removed or if a design image is required, there will be additional charges, or the design may be considered custom at the designer's discretion. Contact us to discuss the possibilities or to request a quote.

Yes, all of our designs are meant to be customized with your choice of center stone and metal! Most work well with center stone sizes from 0.30 carats to 2.0 carats, and in many shapes like oval, pear, brilliant, etc. Look for the suggested stone shape icons in the product listings and select from our center stone collections. Your center stone selection and setting will come together in one beautiful ring ready to propose. 

Unfortunately, we are unable to set any stone not purchased through Laura Preshong. Nor do we sell our settings without a diamond or gemstone purchased through Laura Preshong. 

Unfortunately, we are unable to design with or set small stones not purchased through the gallery in our designs or custom designs. 

We are unable to reuse your precious metals in our designs due to impurities in metal that has been manufactured into jewelry. We do not offer a gold refining service and are unable to purchase or apply credit for gold scrap. Old mounts and gold scrap are returned to the client with the new jewelry piece.

We sell our engagement rings in two ways, A La Cart is fully customized, you choose the center stone type and size and your favorite setting and we put them together into your dream ring. And Prix Fixe is 5 of our most popular settings with expertly selected diamond or Moissanite center stones sold together. Either way the ring comes set, center stone and ring perfectly fitted, ready to propose. 

We feature and sell only Conflict-free and Canadian Origin Diamonds. Canadian diamonds are the superior choice for a truly trackable 'mine to market' diamond. Laura Preshong Heirloom Collection Canadian Diamonds are certified by the Canadian Government with a CanadaMark Inscription and/or a Canadian issued certificate of origin. In addition to Canadian diamonds we purchase and sell diamonds through one U.S. supplier who is committed to selling only No-Conflict Diamonds and is a member of the Diamond Manufacturers and Importers Association of America. The origin of our diamonds are Canadian and Botswana DTC(Botswana, South Africa and Namibia mines). Yes, we use only Canadian and Conflict-free diamond melee in all of our ethical fine jewelry, custom and original designs.

Yes! We have an active inventory of ethical lab grown diamonds as well as an In-House Collection of lab grown diamonds! We love Lab grown!

Melee diamonds is a term used to describe small diamonds. The diamond weight for melee diamonds range from as low as 0.001 carats (1000th/carat) to 0.18 carats. Diamond melee are full cut diamonds with a table, facets and pavilion just like a large diamond. They are not diamond chips or single cut diamonds.

The 4 C's are Cut, Color, Clarity, and Carat. They describe the 4 main characteristics used to grade diamonds, as standardized by the GIA.

Yes! We sell engagement rings the traditional way where the setting and center stone are sold separately because of the sheer number of choices available in every color, size and type. The chosen stone and ring design, made one ring at a time, are fit together perfectly, with a nice low profile. Prix Fixe is a collection of 6 of our most popular styles sold as your complete dream ring with an expertly selected center stone.

Wear and Tear is damage caused by the natural wear and aging of an item. Every individual wears jewelry differently, like shoes, watches and cars, some people will use their pieces for a life-time with no adjustment needed and others may need repairs within the first few months. It is always wise to insure your jewelry against loss, theft, and major repairs. 

Send us a picture, or Return the damaged item to us for a repair assessment. You will be contacted within three days of the receipt of your item with a resolution either the item is covered by the warranty or with an estimate for repair. If your repair is determined manufacturing defect covered by Our Warranty, shipping will be free!

Small diamonds and gemstones, called Melee, are covered under our Small Stone Warranty(melee up to 0.25 carats) for up to 90 days from the receipt of your ring, unless there is visible damage. Gemstones break due to circumstances beyond our control, they can be crushed, or chipped or your prongs can be damaged or worn away, stones may be jarred out of a setting that is struck just so or if a ring is bent out of round changing the shape of the diamond seat and is known as wear and tear. After 90 days stone replacement is not free but we will happy to replace diamond melee, or gemstones in our jewelry as a service to our clients for a reasonable cost(which may be covered by your jewelry insurance). Contact Customer Service for details.
