FAQs

We are unable to work with client-provided diamonds, gemstones, precious metals, or other materials.

All center stones used in our custom designs are sourced through Laura Preshong so our team can ensure they meet our standards for ethical sourcing, quality, and structural suitability.

Every custom project is individually quoted based on the design, materials, gemstones, and craftsmanship involved.

Wedding bands typically begin at $2,000, and custom engagement ring settings begin at $3,200. Most custom engagement ring settings fall between $3,600–$5,600, before the center stone.

Center stones are selected and quoted separately.

Your quote is based on the design specifications discussed with our team. If you decide to change the metal, stone selection, metal weight, or overall complexity of the design during the CAD process we may need to update your quote.

We’ll always review any pricing changes with you before moving forward.

Your 50% design deposit is non-refundable and allows us to begin developing your custom piece. It covers the design work, CAD development, and work performed specifically for your project.

The remaining balance is due once you approve your final design and before your piece enters production.

Your custom project includes your initial CAD renderings plus two rounds of revisions, for up to three CAD sets total.

If you would like to continue making revisions beyond those included, additional CAD rounds begin at $250.

A significant change in design direction may require an updated quote or additional design fee.

The CAD process is where we fine-tune the details of your design. Common adjustments include band width or taper, prong style, accent stone size or placement, setting height, and overall proportions.

Once you approve your final CAD and production begins, cosmetic design changes can no longer be made.

To keep your project on schedule, we recommend completing design feedback, approvals, and payments within approximately four weeks of beginning the design process.

If your project remains inactive for more than 90 days after your initial deposit, it will be considered abandoned. The design deposit will be retained to cover work already completed and cannot be transferred to a new project.

No. Custom sketches, CAD renderings, and digital design files are created exclusively for production by Laura Preshong Ethical Fine Jewelry.

All custom designs remain the intellectual property of Laura Preshong Ethical Fine Jewelry LLC and are not released for outside manufacturing.

Custom design deposits are non-refundable because they cover design consultation, CAD development, and work performed specifically for your project.

Deposits for completed, abandoned, or substantially redesigned projects cannot be refunded or transferred to another design.
