Laura Preshong founded her eponymous jewelry brand in 2005 with a clear mission: to revolutionize the fine jewelry industry by focusing on ethically sourced, environmentally friendly materials. Her passion for sustainability in jewelry production stems from her desire to reduce the negative environmental impacts often associated with traditional practices.

Growing up in central Maine, Laura continued on to study jewelry design at the The Portland School of Art and the Honolulu Academy of Arts where she mastered fabrication, forging and metal raising, casting, wax model making and gemology. What began as an eclectic fine jewelry collection grew into a brand known for its dainty, minimalist engagement rings, valued for their timeless aesthetic and robust craftsmanship. Laura finds inspiration in vintage jewelry, reimagining classic designs with contemporary updates to create a fresh, modern look that honors timeless craftsmanship. Her approach seamlessly blends traditional elegance with innovative twists, making each piece unique. Laura’s designs quickly gained popularity, and the demand for her unique, thoughtful approach to engagement and wedding rings led the business to provide jewelry to clients across the United States and Canada.

Based in Boston, Laura Preshong remains anchored to her core values, producing all pieces locally using low-impact methods within 50 miles of the gallery. The company proudly avoids overseas components, reinforcing its connection to sustainability and community. In addition, Laura’s social responsibility shines through the brand’s ongoing support of local nonprofits, particularly those that provide essential services to underserved women.

With a dedication to craftsmanship, sustainability, and community engagement, Laura Preshong continues to create pieces that reflect not only personal milestones but also a commitment to positive change.
