Favorite Ring #55 is this Balboa tree inspired cocktail ring by Brumani. Exotic and original the collection  includes cabochon cuts of aquamarine and ruby, rose tourmaline, brown diamonds and 18k yellow gold. I love the shape and the side stones, it would easily compliment any hand.



Savoyarde Green by Faberge is Favorite Ring #54. Reminiscent of Southeastern France? I can see it, rolling rich fields of green and I adore it. Ah, France.

Gold and gemstone pave ring by Rodney Rayner is Favorite #51. This whole collection is uber high fashion, the design is innovative with great color use and movement. Love it.

Favorite Ring #50 goes to the Faberge Kaledoscope Ring. Platinum and mixed gemstones.

Tell us about yourself. "I've been designing and creating jewelry for more than 25 years, and I still love it. Making jewelry is the zen part of my job."

Where do you draw your inspiration from? "My inspiration comes from things I love personally, like nature and architecture. I walk my dogs (Charlotte and Suze) in the Arnold Arboretum every morning, the trees in there are so full of expression. They are beautiful from a distance as a form and up close as texture."

What is your favorite piece in the Laura Preshong collection? "I don't really have a favorite piece, but the thing I do love is that all of the work we do in the studio is green. We work in a very low impact studio. We use all recycled gold, fair trade gems and socially responsible diamonds. My jewelry is way more humanitarian than my Apple Computer!"

Are there any other artistic mediums you dabble in? "In high school and when I entered into art school, I thought I wanted to be a photographer. And I still sort of am...we maintain our own web site, and I shoot a lot of the images you see on it."

Where do you see yourself in 5 years? "In San Francisco. I'm dreaming of another store in the city that everybody loves, me included. So stay tuned, and keep your fingers crossed."
